PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE ONLINE

First Time Exemption Applications: Taxpayers applying for the Homeowner, Senior Citizen, Senior Freeze, Veterans or Disabled Homeowner Exemptions for the first time can find these applications on the Cook County Assessor's website.

Senior Exemption: If you lived in your home as of January 1, 2025, you may qualify for the homeowner’s exemption. If you turned 66 anytime this year you now may qualify for Senior Exemption.

Senior Freeze & Disabled Veteran Renewal Applications: Renewals can easily be applied for online. If you are filing for a Senior Freeze, you will be using your 2024 Federal Tax Return.

Please remember…All exemptions are only applied to the second installment property tax bill.

RIVER FOREST ANNUAL TOWN MEETING - APRIL 14

Join us on Tuesday, April 14 at 6PM at the RFCCA Building (8020 Madison, River Forest - 2nd Floor) for our Town Annual Meeting, an essential meeting where residents can engage with the Township leaders, learn about the Township activities, and participate in discussion on important community initiatives.

This meeting is a valuable opportunity for civic engagement, for community members to voice concerns and ask questions. A representative from each of our programs - Assessor, Seniors & Disability, Mental Health, Youth & Family and Township Administration will summarize what happened this past fiscal year and talk about the plans for the future.

ZUMBA FOR OLDER ADULTS IS BACK BEGINNING THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 3

Ready to try something new and energizing? Join us one or more fun and uplifting Zumba sessions where you can move to great music, boost your energy, and enjoy a joyful new experience alongside others in the community. The weekly Friday program starts this Friday (11:15A-12:15P) at the RFCCA (8020 Madison Street) Dance Studio is FREE but does require advance registration and a waiver form. The May 8th class is open to all older adults regardless if you’ve registered in the past. Come give it a try, you might discover a new way to stay active, smile more, and celebrate movement! NAMI LIVING ROOM OPENING - APRIL 7

River Forest Township is proud to be a sponsor of the new NAMI Metro Suburban Living Room opening at 814 Harrison St, Oak Park. The Living Room is a calm, home-like space where adults experiencing distress can connect with a mental health professional.  The Living Room will be open daily 12-8PM and is free.

I/DD RESOURCE FAIR - APRIL 28

You are invited to attend an I/DD Resource Fair also at OPRFHS in April 28 at 6PM. This complimentary event will help you navigate the challenges of supporting your family and learn about the different agencies the Township works with to provide Intellectual and Developmental Disability Services in our community.
