COOK COUNTY ASSESSOR -
RIVER FOREST TOWNSHIP TRIENNIAL REASSESSMENT

River Forest Township is now open for assessment appeals until Tuesday June 2nd.

2026 is the first year of the triennial assessment cycle. All River Forest Township properties will receive a new property assessment value. Reassessment notices were mailed on April 20th, by the Cook County Assessor's Office. Read a valuation summary and learn more about the reassessment on our website.

If records indicate the property is not assessed equitably, appealing in the first year of a triennial reassessment may give residents the best chance at lowering their assessed value.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH WITH THE COOK COUNTY ASSESSOR’S OFFICE - MONDAY MAY 18TH 6:00PM

The River Forest Township Assessor's office is co-hosting a Community Outreach with the Cook County Assessor's office. All residents are invited to attend and will be able to ask the Cook County Assessor Staff questions regarding their property’s new assessment. The outreach will be held at the River Forest Civic Center, 8020 Madison in River Forest.

MISSED THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING?

The Annual Town Annual Meeting is a great way to engage with the Township leaders, learn about the Township activities, and participate in discussion on important community initiatives. We have all the reports from the Assessor, Seniors & Disability, Mental Health, Youth & Family and Township Administration summarizing what happened this past fiscal year and talking about the plans for the future.

Celebrating Seniors Week

The Township is proud to host several events for Celebrating Seniors Week at the RFCCA Building (8020 Madison, River Forest) 2nd Floor.

• We have a free Zumba session on May 8th at 11:15AM.

• On May 11 from 10AM-2PM, we are hosting a DMV event with the Secretary of State team (Registration required).

• On May 12 at 12N we are hosting a Protecting Your Identify workshop with Byline Bank.

MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

In the United States, recent data shows over 23% of U.S. adults (over 57 million people) experienced a mental illness in recent years, while over one in five U.S. adults

experienced a mental illness in 2025. Now more than ever, mental illness shows no signs in slowing down and its impact can affect families, businesses and communities.

UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS

The Township is proud to participate in several community events including the Memorial Day Parade on May 25th and the River Forest Pride Walk on June 1st. We hope you can join us at one or both events.
