RIVER FOREST CIVIC CENTER AUTHORITY (RFCCA)

The River Forest Civic Center Authority (“Authority”) announced it has reached an agreement with the River Forest Community Center (“Community Center”) on an amended lease that will allow the Community Center to continue its early childhood learning and recreational programming at the building located at 8020 Madison Street, River Forest, through 2029.  

APPLICATIONS FOR MHC AND YFS FUNDING

The Township is now accepting FY27 applications for pay per service awards to qualified non-profit organizations serving River Forest Township. Both the Mental Health Committee and the Youth & Family Services Committee have grant processes open through mid-January 2026.  For more information, please contact Supervisor Becvar before the mid-January application deadlines. 

TAKE OUR SURVEY ABOUT SENIOR PROGRAMMING

We want to hear from you about the type and timing of programming for older adults we could offer at the River Forest Civic Center Authority Building at 8020 Madison Street in River Forest. We have been offering chess, dominoes, mahjong, pickleball and Zumba. If there is any other programming you would like to see the Township offer for older adults, please let us know by January 10. 

CONGRATS TO OUR NEW TOWNSHIP TRUSTEE

On December 16, the River Forest Township Board appointed Phillip C. Buta to fill the vacancy as Township Trustee for the term expiring May 2029 replacing Karen Taubman who resigned in November. Phil has been volunteering with the Township for years and had been serving as the Chairperson of the Township Mental Health Committee. On behalf of the entire Township, we want to congratulate Phil on his appointment.    

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

Each year, the Township Officials of Illinois Scholarship Fund awards funds to graduating high school seniors to continue their education at Illinois colleges / universities. If you have a graduating senior who is going to attend an Illinois school in Fall 2026, there will be seven (7) awards of $2,000 each.
