FIRST INSTALLMENT TAX BILLS DUE APRIL 1, 2026

Your first installment tax bill is an estimated tax bill, 55% of the previous year’s total tax bill, and is due on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

This bill does NOT include any exemptions on your property. Exemptions and any assessment reductions due to appeals, will be listed and deducted on the second property tax bill.  2025 Cook County Exemption Applications will be available soon. To pay, visit the Cook County Treasurer website.

COMPLIMENTARY TAX PREPARATION SERVICE FOR SENIORS

Triton College's Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is offering Free Tax Assistance for households with older adults earning less than $69,000/year.

River Forest Township, in coordination with Triton Community College, will have appointments at our building in Room 202 on Fridays until April 10 from 9:30A-12:30P. Advanced registration with an appointment is required by calling 708-456-0300 x3895.

Other locations: Triton College in River Grove, Melrose Park Public Library, Proviso Township Office in Hillside, Lagrange Public Library, Elmwood Park Public Library.   

VOTE BY MAIL CHANGES

With the March 17, Illinois Gubernatorial Primary Election approaching, please note the U.S. Postal Service changed how it defines a postmark. Under the new policy, a postmark now reflects the date the mail is processed, which may occur days after a voter drops their ballot in the mail. As a result, mail ballots placed in blue USPS collection boxes or dropped in post office mailboxes may not be postmarked the same day. This processing delay could affect whether a ballot meets Illinois’ legal requirements to be counted. To help prevent eligible ballots from being disqualified:

• Bring their ballot directly to a USPS retail location and request it be postmarked at the counter; or

• Use one of the 55 secure mail ballot drop boxes that are now available throughout suburban Cook County - including the Oak Park Village Hall (123 Madison Street, Oak Park).

THRIVE IS ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

Thrive is currently accepting new clients for adult individual therapy and psychiatry, with services available in person and virtually. Our current group offerings include: Art Therapy, Mindfulness, Grief Group (In Person), Grief Group (Virtual), Relationships Group, DBT Skills Group, and Adult Trauma Clinic. Youth therapy openings are more limited right now and are available for daytime appointments, Monday through Friday.
