Hello, Township Friends!

A Note from Your New Township Supervisor

I'm honored to introduce myself as the new River Forest Township Supervisor, following the retirement of John Becvar after his many years of dedicated service to our community. I want to thank him for his leadership and for leaving such a strong foundation for the Township to build on.

Some of you may remember me from my time as River Forest Township Clerk until 2021 — I'm thrilled to return and continue serving the community I care so much about.

I've always admired the wonderful work the Township does providing human services to our residents, with a focus on Mental Health, Seniors, and Youth and Families, and I'm excited to help carry that mission forward.

I'll be at our offices at 8020 Madison Street in River Forest on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, but I'm always happy to set up a different time that's more convenient for you.

LEMONAID ON 9/11 FROM 3-7PM

This year marks TWENTY-FIVE YEARS of coming together to remember those we lost, those who responded, and those whose lives were forever changed after the terrorist attacks of 9-11. In their honor, LemonAid was born in 2002 on Bonnie Brae and has become a remarkable local tradition to remember a tragedy with a positive community event.

River Forest Township is honored to support this event and is working to make sure this event can continue in the future. Come on out to the 700 block of Bonnie Brae for a full line-up of fabulous local entertainment, tasty treats and of course, plenty of ice-cold lemonade! LemonAid has raised over $700,000 for local charities that serve children.

OUR SENIOR PROGRAMMING IS GROWING!

We're excited to share that, beginning in October, the gym at the 8020 Madison Street building will be available every weekday from 8:30–10:00 AM for senior programming!

Thank you to many River Forest residents for sharing their desires for senior programming in a survey in August. Stay tuned for our expanded schedule beginning in October which will include mahjong, chess, Zumba, indoor walking, pickleball, yoga, piano, and mindfulness exploration.

This September, please join us at 8020 Madison Street for Art Classes, Majhong twice a week, Chair Yoga, Zumba, and Chess.
