Cook County Board of Review Open for Appeals July 7th to August 5th
If the assessed value of your property was significantly reduced from a prior appeal, there may be no further need for additional appeals.
Property owners who have a computer and internet access are able to file an online appeal from the comfort of their homes. We are happy to provide online instructions for this process, as well as assistance with supporting documentation. If you do not have a computer, please contact us by phone.

Public Hearings on RFCCA Building - Weekly thru Aug 19
River Forest Civic Center Authority (RFCCA) is the owner and manager of the building at 8020 Madison Street. RFCCA is working to make sure the building has the needed capital to be a vibrant space for the community for the next 30 years through its agreements with the tenants. Join us each week (Jul 28, Aug 5, 12 and 19th) for evening meetings at 8020 Madison Street, Room 202, River Forest where all are welcome to learn about the contract negotiations.

Backpack Distribution - August 8th
We will be distributing free backpacks to Oak Park-River Forest youth and families with kids in Pre-K to high school on Friday, August 8th from 5-7PM at Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School (325 S Kenilworth Avenue, Oak Park). The backpacks contain folders, rulers, scissors, notebooks, crayons, sharpies, pencils, highlighters, erasers, glues, etc. We’ll also have face painting, photobooth, complimentary haircuts and more!

Assessor Services
We act as a taxpayer advocate for local residents in the Cook County property tax system. Our goal is to ensure taxpayers’ property is fairly and accurately assessed. We are available to help with your property tax inquiries, including exemptions and appeals.

Senior & Disability Services
We provide a full array of services to older adults and individuals with disabilities, such as meals, transportation, care management, information/referral, as well as various support programs and educational events.

Youth & Family Services
We contract with local agencies to provide an array of educational, mentoring, recreational, and financial assistance programs to support our youth, in addition to offering our own Youth Engagement Program.

Mental Health & I/DD Services
We support residents with mental health needs, developmental disabilities, and substance use issues, through our own programs and those of the agencies we fund.

Resident Assistance Services
We offer a variety of services including general assistance, emergency assistance, access to a notary, medical equipment lending library, voter registration and referrals to non-profits and government entities near River Forest.
