About
River Forest Civic Center Authority
The River Forest Civic Center Authority (RFCCA), or officially River Forest Metropolitan Exposition, Auditorium and Office Building Authority, established in 1984, is the owner and manager of the building at 8020 Madison Street, River Forest. RFCCA has no authority to levy property taxes. By statute, the RFCCA Board of Managers is the same as the River Forest Township Board of Trustees but the two entities are separate.
RFCCA was created so that River Forest could become eligible to obtain state funds for a new community center facility. In 1989, RFCCA received a $1.9 million grant from the State of Illinois, plus $100,000 in contributions each from River Forest Township and the Village of River Forest, to purchase and renovate the building.
RFCCA is working to make sure the building has the needed capital to be a vibrant space for the community for the next 10, 20, and 30 years.
The RFCCA Board of Managers meets the second Tuesday of each month except in December. Regular meetings of the Board follow the 6:30 p.m. meeting of the River Forest Township Board of Trustees. The meetings are Open Meetings subject to the same Public Comment Rules as the Township uses.
Meetings will take place at the River Forest Township offices, 2nd floor, River Forest Civic Center Authority Building, 8020 Madison Street, River Forest, IL 60305.
The meeting agenda will be posted at least 48 hours in advance on this website (www.riverforesttownship.org) in the below “Meeting Agendas” section, at the River Forest Civic Center Authority Building and the River Forest Public Library. This is also the case for any changes in time, date or location of the meetings scheduled above.
